REPORT ON PROGRAM OF ACTIVITIES MARKING THE END OF THE YEAR CELEBRATION AND RECEPTION IN HONOUR OF THE NATIONAL PRESIDENT – MSGOBA

In continuation of his tour of local chapters aimed at strengthening this critical base of the Association, the MSGOBA National President, Hon. Arc. (Dr). Asema Achado last weekend visited the Lafia Chapter. The occasion commenced with a thanksgiving Mass at St. Williams Catholic Cathedral Lafia. Host and communion wine, with a cash sum of N30,000 was presented for thanksgiving led by the MSGOBA National President, and the MSGOBA Chairman Nasarawa State Chapter, Engr. Chenge Patrick.

In addition, the National President, Hon. Arc. (Dr). Asema Achado donated the sum of N100,000.00 to the church.

Reception followed with an opening prayer by Alh. Ahmed Ibrahim (Set 69).

Introduction of special guest of honor and other invited special guests:

The MSGOBA president, worldwide, Hon. Arc. Dr. Asema Achado, in whose honor the reception was held, was introduced followed by other special guests including His Excellency, Ambassador Musa Illu Mohammed, the former Ambassador to Sweden, Finland and Norway- (Jakadan Lafia); and Elder Daniel Isaiah - the Director of  Finance, Ministry for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs Nasarawa State.

Two members of the pioneer set of MSG present, were honored;

1. Alh. Ramalan Mohammed – (Set 68)
2. Elder Anthony Igwesi –(Set 68)

Apologies from special invited guest

The following special invited guest who could not be present due to emergency and sudden engagement by the Executive Governor of Benue State on same day are:

1. Dr. Emmanuel Chenge – Pricipal Private Secretary to the Executive Governor of Benue State.
2. Hon. Alex Addingi – Special Adviser to the Executive Governor, Benue State.
3. Prof. Isaac Itodo – VC, University of Agriculture Makurdi, Benue State.

The Chairman’s Welcome Address.

In his welcome address, the Chairman of MSGOBA Nasarawa State Chapter, Engr. Chenge Patrick highlighted the achievements of the association which includes the establishment of the associations co-operative society and acquisition of the association’s secretariat building amongst others.

He further highlighted the association’s planned projects for the early part of 2024 which include:

• Renovation and furnishing of the acquired secretariat building.
• Initiating support programmes for widows of deceased members and elderly members (Ancestors of ages of 70 and above).
• Invitation of visionary investors to invest in the chapter’s co-operative Society.

Response from the guests

The special guest of honor and president of MSGOBA worldwide Hon. Arc. (Dr). Asema Achado responded by offering to support the association in her sustainable and viable programmes.

His Excellency, Ambassador Musa Illu Mohammed, one of the special invited guests, promised to support the association’s planned programmes.

Honoring Members

Members of the MSGOBA Nasarawa State Chapter, who are 1^st set of MSG (set 68) were honored and presented with MSG souvenirs (Customized shirts and caps). They are:

1. Alh. Ramalan Mohammed
2. Elder Anthony Igwesi

Vote of thanks

The vote of thanks and closing remarks was by Alh. Ramalan Mohammed.

The number of guests at the occasion/reception were about 100 including members, families and invited guests.  

MSGOBA Nasarawa State Chapter, raised the total sum of N470,000.00 to host the celebration.
