SPOTLIGHT – DR ALFRED AONDOYIMA TUME (JP)
Dr Alfred Tume was born on 6th January 1974 in Jos, Plateau State. He hails from Ushongo LGA of Benue State.
He attended the famous Kusaki Nursery and Primary School Yandev, Gboko and Mount Saint Gabriel’s Secondary School Makurdi for his secondary education. He proceeded to University of Ibadan where he read medicine and surgery graduating with an MBBS. He has followed up with further studies majoring in Radiology.
Dr Tume is a Fellow of the West African College of Surgeons (FWACS), Member of the Medical College of Radiology (MMCR), Fellow of the institute of Management Consultants (FIMC) and has a Diploma in public Administration as well as a Certificate in leadership and management in health from Washington University.
He has worked at various institutions in the country and beyond including:
- FMC, Bida, Niger State (house job/medical officer)
- Aminu Kano Teaching, Kano (Chief Resident of Radiology Dept)
- Yerima Bakura Specialist Hospital, Gusau, Zamfara State (Visiting locum Radiologist)
- Rasheed Shekoni Specialist Hospital, Dutse, Jigawa State (Visiting locum Radiologist)
- Nigerian Naval Reference Center, Ojo, Lagos (locum Radiologist)
- FMC, Gusau, Zamfara State (Consultant Radiologist and HOD Radiology dept)
- Echolab Radiology and Laboratory Services Victoria Island Lagos (Consultant Radiologist and HOD Radiology dept)
Dr Tume is a Visiting Consultant Radiologist to St. Nicholas Hospital Lagos and Bluecoral diagnostic center, Lekki Lagos. He is also a Consulting Radiologist to V-Star Data, USA and has had several publications in medical journals. His Core skills/competence include:
Practice with all modalities, Teamwork, Good communication, Leadership, Management and IT.
In his days in MSG, Tume was a footballer and labor prefect but was best known for clearing top individual awards especially in his ‘form 1’ where he was best overall student and best in about 9 out of 12 subjects.
He is one of the silent but effective contributors to the OBA cause and has been very supportive of MSGOBA activities especially at set level. He has keen interests in real estate, community development, application of AI in Radiodiagnosis while his hobbies are reading, traveling, and watching combat sports.
He is happily married with three children and lives in Lekki, Lagos State.
