SPOTLIGHT - INNOCENT GBER - CLASS OF ‘69 - RADIO TRANSMITTER MAINTENANCE SPECIALIST - ENGINEER - LIVES IN OTUKPO, BENUE STATE Innocent Gber was born on the 01/08/1950 and hails from Gwer West LGA of Benue State. He had his elementary education at St. Mary's Primary School, Moi/Igbo, Gwer East and was admitted into MSG on 7th January 1965 for his secondary education which he concluded in November 1969 as the second graduating set of the school. He always wanted to read medicine but owing to the onset of the Biafra war, many expatriate staff left and since all the science tutors then were affected, that dream was put on hold for Innocent. He proceeded to Survey School, Oyo where he did a few years before proceeding to P&T, School of Telecommunications, Oshodi, Lagos State for a specialized course in Radio Transmitters Maintenance. Innocent picked up a job with the Nigeria Railways and worked for four years before joining Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) in 1978. At NTA, he worked as a Radio Transmitters Specialist and performed exceptionally well until his mandatory retirement in 2010. Innocent Gber currently works with Joy FM Otukpo where he is still offering his professional services. He remains an ardent follower of all MSG activities and is always keen to contribute in any way he can. He is married with seven (7) children and lives in Oturkpo, Benue State.
