SPOTLIGHT – PROF. JUDE TERNA KUR

Prof. was born June 20 and hails from Tse-Mkovur, Mbageva, Ipav, Gboko LGA of Benue State.

 

He began his primary education at L.G.E.A. Primary School, Demekpe, Makurdi, Benue State before enrolling at MSG in 1983 and graduating in ’88.

 

He proceeded to University of Jos, to read Mass Communication and has since been to Universities of Maiduguri, Nigeria Nsukka and Uyo culminating in a PhD Mass Communication in 2010.

 

Prof. rose through the ranks first at Anambra State University, Igbariam Campus, Nigeria and at Federal University of Technology, Minna, Niger State, Nigeria, where he is now a Professor of Information and Media Technology, Department of Information Science and Media Studies and Dean, School of Information and Communication Technology.

 

He has been:

Member, Board of Trustee, African Council for Communication Education (ACCE), Nigerian Chapter.

Member (Senate Representative), Appointment and Promotions Committee (Senior Staff), Federal University of Technology, Minna, Nigeria. Member, Benue State (Nigeria) Transition Committee 2019 where he served as Chairman of ICT sub-committee.

Patron, Royal Association, Minna, Niger State, Nigeria.

Member, African Council for Communication Education (ACCE) and many other learned professional bodies.

 

His areas of research interest include:

Parental Mediation.

ICTs and New Media.

Broadcast Media.

Communication and Young People. Peace Communication.

Indigenous Communication. Political Communication. Gender and communication.

 

He has many publications to his name as well as editorial responsibilities

Prof. has been a pillar of Set ’88 and contributing immensely to the well being of his classmates and the OBA.

 

His hobbies include: Photography, Traveling, Writing, Reading, Joking and Acting

 

Prof. is married with 2 kids and lives in Minna, Niger State
