Born July 12, 1976 in Benin City in the former Bendel State to a Civil Servant father and a teacher mother. He's the last of seven children.
Richard started his primary education at Anglican Primary School, Makurdi before switching to University Staff school also in Makurdi where he graduated in 1987. He was admitted into the prestigious Mount Saint Gabriel's Secondary School, Makurdi in the year 1988 and graduated in the year 1993.
In 1995, Richard proceeded to the Federal Polythecnic Nekede Owerri where he studied Library and Information Science. In a bid to achieve his long time dream of becoming a Lawyer, he enrolled for a Diploma in Law program at University of Jos, Plateau State in the year 1999. Upon completion, he proceeded to Abia State University Uturu, where he bagged a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Linguistics and Communication Studies in 2004.
He did the mandatory NYSC at College of Education, Gindiri in Mangu LGA of Plateau State. As a very hardworking Corps member he landed an extra teaching job within the same mission compound and taught Communication Skills at the COCIN College of Theology. He was also engaged by a few clergymen in the institution to render after - school extra lessons.
Upon completion of his NYSC in January 2007, he was lucky to clinch a job with Telecommunications giant MTN and was posted to the Contact Centre unit. Because of his passion for growth, he moved on to the Banking sector where he started his career with First City Monument Bank (FCMB) in November of same year. It was at this period that he enrolled for a Master of International Law and Diplomacy in one of Nigeria's premium Universities; the University of Lagos.
In a quest for career advancement, he moved on to Fidelity Bank in October 2010 where he was one of the pioneer staff of the newly opened Adeola Odeku branch in the highbrow Victoria Island part of Lagos heading the Consumer banking unit of the Branch.
In February 2012 he took a leap by moving into the advertising sector joining Look Media Limited, a key player in the outdoor advertising sub-sector of the industry taking up the role of Head of Marketing. He served the organization diligently until September 2013 when he was wooed by another outdoor company Ahaa Media to lead its marketing team considering the giant strides he had recorded in the industry. He was with the organization until his passion for entrepreneurship came alive.
Prior to these times, Richard had been engaged in tailoring business as an alternative stream of income but on a very low scale considering the demands of his 9 - 5 jobs. However, in 2015 he saw the need to pursue his passion of cloth making and decided to go full time into fashion design which he does to date.
Richard has been very successful doing what he terms his greatest passion; cloth making. Since he set up his fashion business in 2015, he has never relented rather he has soared in this craft designing very outstanding clothing for both private and corporate clients. It is in same vein that he went ahead to design the popular Mount Saint Gabriel's Old Boys' formula one shirt which in its uniqueness has helped in positively projecting the image of the association.
As a passionate member of his Old Boys' Association Richard has served meritoriously in various capacities ranging from Set, Chapter and National levels. He's the immediate past Vice President of his set (93) and was the Chairman, Central Planning Committee of his set's 30th graduation anniversary which held last month. He also served as National Social Director under the Ayabam - led administration. It’s also worthy of note that Richard Ehieze revived the Lagos Chapter and has led for seven (7) years (4 years officially). He was also elected as the Worldwide Vice President at the just concluded elective convention. As a result of his antecedents, he was appointed Chairman, Coordination and Contact Committee by the Worldwide President Hon. (Arc.) Dr. Asema Achado and is charged with the task of opening up new chapters within Nigeria and in the diaspora.
Richard is married and has three lovely kids with his beautiful wife Zelma. He loves to drive long distances in his BMW e39 and also enjoys researching on vast topics.
