Ochigbo was born on 5th December 1958 at Utonkon, Benue State. He had his early education at R.C.M. Transferred  primary school Utonkon and Okporikpo and gained admission into MSG in September 1971 but graduated in 1976 as a result of the new school calender running from January to December.

 

Ochigbo proceeded to Ambrose Alli University Ekpoma for a B.Sc in Business Administration and returned to MSG where he has lived out his life in service to Father Fraser and MSG. He retired as a Deputy Director

 

While s student in MSG, Ochigbo was 1 of 6 ‘office boys’ appointed by Father Fraser and rose to become the most trusted which made Fraser retain him and compelled him to stay back even after he got an offer to proceed for studies abroad as 1 of 2 best students from his set in the Middle ManPower project. His mate that left , Mr. ‘Asom’ is currently a top CEO in the U.S and links with him occasionally.

 

Ochigbo supervised the building of the admin block that is symbolic of the school till date.

At Fr. Fraser’s bidding, he applied and got his driver’s licence at age 17 in 1975 and was driving father around especially when he was tired or sick. Ochigbo was also the driver of a luxury bus that was donated from Los Angeles to the school back then.

 

He has held the following positions in the course of his selfless career:

  • Vice Principal, Special Duties, Mt. St. Gabriel’s Secondary School.
  • Vice President, Nigeria Shippers Council, Benue State.
  • Venue Coordinator, BSU Sandwich Programme.
  • Benue State Coordinator for National Peace Summit Group (NPSG) and the Centre for Sustainable Development and Education in Africa.

 

Ochigbo is widely travelled having been to the UK, France, Italy, South Africa and Dubai for Courses, Seminars, Dialogue, Peace and Conflict Resolution and Good Governance Initiatives.

 

He has 7 children and all 5 boys are graduates and also old boys of MSG. He still lives in the old teacher’s quarters in MSG where he continues to render active service to the school. He can be reached via: 08054902365
